“Art Gowns” Evicted From Queen’s end

Tragic, but true! Due to excessive lounging and refusals to do dishes “Art Gowns” have been asked to leave Queen’s end.

I mentioned a book on the new site but seeing these in real life even better. Where is there an opportunity to show your works of art? I already see the promotional video with you and your bio/inspirations/ hopes and dreams… really though. xx wt
ps – I just tried sewing a simple curtain out of cotton/hemp muslin- so out of my comfort zone!

Wendy, thanks for your support! I’m not 100% sure where I’m going with it ll, but I have thought of a show at an Gallery, in tandem with a painter.
LOL on the curtains…. (I burnt 2 pans cooking dinner last night!)

Oh Resa — Art gowns evicted :( But I have faith — they have found a home of their very own where they can be adored and appreciated forevermore. I am heading over now — but can see already that Flora Blanca is a stunner…. wow — for beautiful Sherrie too– so exciting! I’m on my way ~ :) Love and Hugs from your F-G-S ~ x

    So does Queens End continue?

    • Resa McConaghy May 25, 2013 at 2:53 pm Edit #

      Thanks for asking, John!

Yes, Queen’s end will still exist, although in the future I will move it from the URL resamcconaghy.com to queensend.wordpress.com

I have moved things over there and have it “Private” while I revamp it back to what I always wanted it to be, for writing, something different from my designing. I’ve written 2 books (one is titled “Queen’s end”), but I keep getting sidetracked, so nothing happens.

Most Designers in my business have professional CV sites with demo reels etc. A couple of producers have searched me, and wound up at Queen’s end. Producers/directors etc should wind up at Resa McConaghy’s CV site (not a Blog). My name is Resa McConaghy, therefore I need the URL resamcconaghy.com for that professional situation. (Hindsight is 50/50)

The “Art Gowns” just kind of sashayed in…. and I think that is normal because I am a Designer.
However, I think the “Art Gowns” have commercial/art/branding potential on their own, which is why they have their own site now. I have other creative/clothing/accessories/DIY ideas I’d like to incorporate under the “Art Gowns” branding.

      I wish I had a business partner!

      Sincerely,
      Resa

Do you ever design gowns for the senior citizen set? Something with sheer stretch lace sleeves to the wrists, covering the shoulders & neck would probably appeal to age 60 & over bunch who may still be a size 6 but no longer in possession of taught triceps, torso or thighs. Just wondering…

    • Resa McConaghy May 26, 2013 at 12:46 pm Edit #

It’s a great idea, however I’ve only done 7 “Art Gowns” so far, all on an armless/headless Judy “lol” , so sleeves are not out of the question. Personally, I prefer a bit of sleeve action.
Also, I’m hoping now that the “Art Gowns” have their own place, there will be other inspirations.
I’m quite keen on an idea called the “Poetry Shirt”, which has long sleeves, covers the shoulders… and I’ll work on the neck! Thanks for asking!

Ah, the benefits of hindsight! Good to hear that it’s coming together now though Resa and it’s lovely that the gowns have their own home (although dreadful that they wouldn’t pull their weight around the house – naughty gowns!). Will love to see the new pro site, as well as the new blog!

    • Resa McConaghy May 26, 2013 at 12:37 pm Edit #

      Ya, good old hindsight!
Anyway, hopefully the gowns can keep their new home tidier!
Imelda, thanks for all of your support!
I feel a bit overwhelmed… someone else thinks “Art Gowns” should have a Facebook page. “lol”
Does the whole entire world now live on-line? :-)

Great idea letting these amazing gowns had their very own room, their “own” life… :-)

    • Resa McConaghy May 26, 2013 at 9:59 am Edit #

Thank you for saying that! I agree with you. They need their own space! :-) :-)
