Unbridled whimsy for all ages.  The Delta Pearl is a shining, opulent take on the often dark steampunk genre.  

The magical riverboat has a full complement of crew, all of whom have gemstone names, but also use their positions as names.  Senior staff like the Captain, the Cook, and the Dealer are parental figures to Émeraude, whose sixteenth birthday is near.  There’s also the dashing First Mate, and the Cadet, not to mention the clockwork creatures, like Amethyst and Onyx.  Then there’s the Delta Pearl — the riverboat herself, who is the most mysterious of all.

The riverboat has taken on an array of intriguing passengers.  Any and all of them spell trouble.  Mystery and danger flow with each turn of the paddlewheel.

The Delta Pearl duology includes:  The Delta Pearl: A Steampunk Riverboat, and The Geostrophic Pearl.  This duology recounts the exploits of crew and passengers — and clockwork creatures, as told by Émeraude Perlezenn, while the currents of fate carry her toward her destiny.

Series Logline

On a steampunk riverboat, the crew must identify and defeat a powerful enemy before he takes control of the magical boat.

A feisty sixteen-year-old must understand both her past and her future in order to confront a powerful foe and save a living riverboat and her crew.
