Princess Blue Holly to the Rescue

While the Art Gowns Mermaids slept until their spell was broken, Princess Blue Holly set off to to save them.

Timothy Price had given her a Tangle-Heart tree to carry with her always. It would guide her. She placed it in her heart, so she would never be without a compass. Besides it didn’t fit in Rene Rosso’s suitcase.

Her Tangle-Heart led her to Albuquerque. Here, as Rene Rosso, she would await further information. Of course every venue in town was eager to book the Torchy Nightingale.

Ms. Rosso negotiated: 5 new Art Gowns (1 of which would be styled after the Cottonwoods in fall), a new poster featuring afore mentioned Art Gown, a double size dressing room, a massive star on the door, her choice of songs, musicians and hair, make-up & wardrobe changes during the sets.

Of course limo service to and from her hotel, fresh flowers and fruit plates were included in the Rider. On Saturday night she closed her first set with “Why Don’t You Do Right”, Julie London style.

Retiring for an hour to her dressing room, she threw on a shortie robe. There was note by her fruit plate. It read: “The evil oceanic spawn of SinMonto Corporation, MerSin, turned the Art Gowns models into mermaids.”

“He’s headed to where the Rio Grande meets the Gulf of Mexico. His intention; to feast on the fishermen who gather & hang out there.”
She had only 1 hour! Rene Rosso quickly morphed into Princess Blue Holly.
(ONE begins the morphing)

She looked into her Tangle-Heart for the fastest route. Resa’s Cottonwood marked the shortest path to Tingley Beach; enter the water there, swim to the Rio Grande and surface when it met the gulf.

Princess Blue Holly ran at super speed. She was so fast that no one could see her, as she flew past Resa’s Cottonwood tree.
At Tingley Beach, she jumped into the water, and morphed into Princess Blue Holly Mermaid.

Using her Turbo-Tail Fin at full speed, she would arrive in the Rio Grande within moments. She would be at the Gulf of Mexico within minutes.

END OF PART 2 – STAY TUNED FOR PART 3.

What a great story you are putting together. Love the song. I like how you are using your tree and Holly’s tree; and, as always, your illustrations are fantastic. The thought of Blue Holly Mermaid “Using her Turbo-Tail Fin at full speed…” made me laugh. Looking forward to part three.

    1. Thanks Timothy!
It’s a lot of fun putting this story together, and it’s demanding that I draw. I like that.
      Part 3… coming up…. in a few weeks. 😀

  2. The negotiations were exhausting but RR ( aka Diva) must have what’s coming to her and without your influence in the industry there may have been a huge problem but with a snap you your elegant fingers there was the fruit plate and the gorgeous gowns. Without Tim’s gift of the Tangle Heart and Cottonwood tree as a compass the journey would have been too much even for PBH. Having morphed and using her Turbo-Tail Fin at full speed she is well on her way to rescuing the models. I wait patiently for part 3.
You are so incredibly talented I’m completely blown away. Brava!
    xoxo

    1. I know negotiations were all very extensively exhausting, and I hope RR is resting well.
The Art Gowns are a given in a Diva’s contract (although RR got more than usual), but the fruit plate is often forgotten.
Glad to have been of service.
I have total faith in PBH.
      TY & xoxo

        1. The torch song is outta this world.
          Thanks for covering it!
          xoxo
MerSin is doomed! (Will send rough sketch in a few days.) it’s difficult to draw such hideousness.

    1. Exactly! She’s the first Super Hero who changes outfits, crime dependent. lol! It would be very boring to wear the same tights and cape every day! 😉

    1. Thank you, Teagan! It means a lot coming from you!
No, I’ve never been to the Rio Grande. I did check the rout from Tingley Beach with Tim.
I lived in Miami Beach for a year, years ago. I’ve been to Georgia, Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio, (and New York many times) and Washington State, Nevada, Oregon and California (many times).
I’ve yet to see the Gulf, Rio or New Mexico, Louisiana, which I’d like to visit.
      Hugs!!!

    1. That photo of the Tangle-Heart tree is stunning. It is so generous of Timothy to let us use it!
Glad you like the story and drawings. Winter has set in, and so I’ll have a bit more indoor creative time.
I think the new Art Gown will be finished before the next episode of Princess Blue Holly… but who knows what I’ll feel like doing.

    1. Yay! So happy you like this. I’ve got to draw the bad guy, MerSin. I’ll just try and make him really ugly. As long as the girls look good, I’m happy.

Now this is epic superhero the way it should be done. I especially like PBH’s alter ego. Who would guess RR is really PBH fighting evil and rescuing mermaids while singing big band classics in stunning art gowns and nibbling fruits back stage in luxury accommodations? Great job Resa! I love this adventure and the art that goes with it.

    1. hehehehe! IKR! Who would ever guess RR is PBH!
Also, as RR, I get to draw gowns.
I suppose we all use what we know. I worked (as a costumer) in the entertainment industry for most of my career. With RR, I get to use all that background knowledge.
I’m a bit out of my depth with PBH, but I’m working on it!

    1. My dear Lonely,
I hope your hiatus was a rest/escape from blogging that you needed.
I’m so happy you came here to visit…. especially first. ❤
      You are a true sweetheart!
So, how is it to be back in Miami? Are you happily lounging by the pool sipping a Mojito and writing your novel? I hope so.
Your sweet, affirming poetry is exhilarating to those of us out here in bloggerville.
Still, what about you? What about the full read, your novel?
You deserve to feel the thrill we feel, when we read your poetry. I know our comments are a joy, but don't become complacent within them. Your novel looms. Wait until you feel the joy of having finished your book, until some of us have weighed in!
Lol, I get ahead of myself.
Just saying… welcome back, thank you for visiting me first, I think you are wonderful and write on!
