🤍 A Dream 🤍 of Paper

Welcome Dahlings! The AGMs & I are here tonight to help Resa thank Timothy from Off Center Not Even.

I know I look amazing. I can’t help it! I’ve been heavily filtered. Unfortunately, the colours are not as Resa meant them.

When supply chain issues affected the stock of art supplies in Toronto, Tim & Holly – House of Heart started a swear jar to buy a gift of art supplies, & mail them to Resa. If she is not home, she can later pick it up at her post office.

I hear you RR! She can’t order on line, because if she’s not home, the delivery guys just leave the package on the step. Never mind porch pirates, Resa lives by a busy streetcar transfer stop. Hundreds of people are out there every day.

“That’s true, Marina! Recently, she couldn’t find paper in the weight & size she uses. So she did this pencil & smudges drawing of me around old paint blots.”

“Still, none of us get new gowns without drawing paper. Here comes the dream! It’s  Drawing paper, a REAM of it, seen here posing beside the new Art Gown (for Shey). It’s about 60% done. AGM Dale, what do you think about that?”

“Holly, I’m feeling 100% wicked about it!”

“Especially when you factor in a roll of Resa’s fave paper, two pads of the same paper, two dozen HB pencils, scads of water colour pencils and two kneadable erasers!”

“On top of it all, Tim threw in a gift of LED lights, so Resa can try getting the colours more how she means them.”

AGM Shey was thrilled, as she had just got a Lamé gown. She insisted on being photographed in it.

The lights are fabulous, dahling, but we need a new make-up artist. The one from the Coop knows how to work with my face. Can we make that happen?

Of course dahling! Only the best, now that we have lights.

Ribbons of sand run through her red hair. The moon streaks the sky with flecks of gold. – based on words from a poem by Holly.

Dear Tim,

You’ve gone beyond the call. I can’t thank you enough! I’ve been taking pics for days. I want everything to be perfect for this thank you, but there’s so much to learn. We will have to settle for perfectly imperfect. XOXOXO

Tim, RB here via Skype. I wanted to be here and celebrate with Resa, RR and the AGMs. I have no idea where I am, but I am art directing a fashion show for Live Nitoop Network, apparently. If you see PBH, can you pass this on for me?

HELP!!!

    1. Thank you so much, Jaya! The Art Gowns are beauty. We need more beauty in this world. Flowers are beautiful, kindness is beautiful, gowns are beautiful, even if we don’t wear them. Sometimes I pretend I’m wearing one of my Art Gowns when I do housework. Lol…

    1. Thank you Trent! The gift is fantastic. Guess I better get drawing! The AGMs are radiant, exactly. I have lots of enjoyment drawing them. They are such fun blog pals.

Thank you for this wonderful post, Resa. You are most welcome. The show and ArtGowns must go on! There is no one in our Sublime Amusing and Enigmatic Cyber Circle more deserving than you. You are so sweet and generous. We would all be lost without your wonderful gowns, drawings, and stories. Especially during these cursed times, which has some of us making sailors blush keeping your cursing jar full, overflowing, and ready for such emergencies.

    1. Dear Tim,
I am still in awe of this generous gift.
It is a horrible time, especially for Ukraine and Eastern Europe. And now we are learning to live with Covid, because it will never go away.

I’m sure I could make some sailors blush. I learned to cuss on set. The grips and electrics taught me. Now, it’s coming in handy.

I have lots of drawing to do. Charlotte loves her new gown drawing, and I did another she hasn’t seen. One more to draw there, for our tribute post.

Of course, there’s a new episode of PBH coming up. Rebecca needs to be rescued. By the time PBH gets there, the AGMs will need to be rescued, too.

      So many ideas!!!
I’m sure I will not be running out of supplies soon!
Again, Thank you dear friend!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxo

It just feels like I can’t say enough.
Okay, I’ll be back. Time to make dinner.

        1. Okay!! Draw I will. I’ve been looking at the big roll. I said to Norm, I’d like to hang a piece from floor to ceiling… about 10 feet. Then paint on it. He said great idea! I answered what wall in what room should I destroy? Creatively, of course! 😉🎨

    1. Dave,
      What a lovely comment!
I am so fortunate and grateful.
As soon as I finish my taxes (uch) I’m going slice open the (D)ream of paper.
The sheets are a bit bigger than I’m used to, although I’ve been told I should use bigger paper by some friends. It’s going to be fun!

    1. Janet,
      Friends are wonderful!
As soon as I finish my stupid taxes, I’m drawing and sewing up a storm.
(Just finished 660 inches of hem by hand)

    1. Thank you dear Gi! Over the last 2 years, getting art supplies has been a challenge. Now, I don’t have to worry for quite awhile. The lights will be an added bonus when shooting my Art Gowns!
There’s different colour filters, and brightness adjustments. I’ve only begun to experiment! xoxoxoxo

    1. Thank you, Cindy! Yes, art….it’s a good way to go!
Although, without supplies, I would be doing shadow puppets!
      I can’t thank Tim enough!

  2. Dahling, is there a more generous and fabulous friend than our very own Timothy? No! He’s the best, and you’re the best, especially with these absolutely beautiful and essential art supplies. This is a lovely thank you as only you could create, it’s a heartwarming collaboration and I must also thank Timothy , it would be a sad day should you run out of your materials ! Thank you for your amazing works of art ( I’m gaga over Shey’s new gown! I can imagine the absolute dream she will be in it). Thank you for being a friend you two and of course my one and only Meece, love you to pieces!

Well said, Holly. I think the world would crumble around us if Resa ran out of art supplies. I call Shey’s gown “The green with envy gown”. It is so lovely, and seems to be so Shey. Resa has a really good sense about all the AGMs and how to make them more beautiful than they all ready are.

        1. Timothy Price

You Shanghaied a wedding gown? I love it.. Your Green with Envy dress is really beautiful. Imagine how you would look wearing it?

    2. Dahling Meece,
Thank you for starting the swear jar with Tim!
Although, I must say my eyebrows went up when he told me the swear jar was full again, already, and I did not have to send $$$ for supplies. You guys must have had some bad days.

At the art store near me, there’s been signs up for 2 years now. They say “Supplies arriving soon”.
Right! If you don’t get there the day they arrive, you are s.o.l.!
One time I was so desperate, I bought a pad of black paper. Although I used that for the Boogapony poster for the BeeGee’s concert, BP was just cut out and glued on.

Another time I bought real water colour paper. Tim took one look at a drawing I sent him, and said “that must be eating your pencils!” So much medium to work with, so little experience.
However, Multimedia paper, 11×14, a large assortment lead of pencils (Tim topped that off quite nicely in the first shipment) watercolour pencils, ink pens…. and erasers…lol are perfect for what I enjoy doing most.

Yeah, Shey’s gown! What a trip! I decided to do the skirt on bias.
You’ll be happy to know I finished the 660 inches of hem by hand. Of course now I have to add trim to that.

It will be a lot of fun using the new lights to shoot the gown with.

I’m so happy all of you are here!
      🐭 2 🐭 I adore you!
      xoxoxoxoxoxo

      1. Lots of cussing been going on over the past two years. ( it’s Timothy) . I’m so happy you have all these fabulous mediums and material and paper and lighting. You deserve it all. You’ve put in so much work on Sheys gown, it’s a knockout, so elegant and perfect for that lovely. All that hemming is unbelievable, do you have thimbles on all your fingers? I can’t wait to see the finished gown, I’m so excited! I just can’t fight it 🎶🎶 …
It’s so hard to get any supplies these days, hats off to Timothy. Such a gem!
        Love you to pieces Meece!
        xoxoxo

        1. Lol!
AHH, so Tim’s the one with potty mouth!
It will be exciting to use the lights on Shey’s gown.
I wear a thimble on 1 finger, the one that pushes the needle through.
Shey’s gown will be a lot more ornate… big puff on the back, ruffles and a few odd bits. NEXT… the zipper goes in.
          xoxoxo

Love you to pieces too, Meece!
I wonder what song RR will pick for the Zombie post?
          xoxoxo

          1. Oh yes , it’s all Timothy😏! I (RR of course, I have a tendency to take over her duties, so embarrassing) will be reviewing various videos for the Zombie extravaganza.
Please take care of your fingers.
            xoxoxoxox

  4. It is only right, darling Sorceress! You are such a generous soul with all of your offerings, karma is working for you, my friend. Way to go Tim and Holly for coming through for our gal.
Beauty!! Shey’s gown is amazing!!! 😘💞💕🥰

    1. Shuckers, Thunder!
Thing is, I’m having fun, fun with my blog pals and art.
Just got to finish my taxes, then I will burst forth.
Shey’s gown still has a bit to go, but it’s getting there. Finished 660 inches of hem (by hand) the other day.
So, I always have 3 people ideas for dedicating an Art Gown to on the go. When the Shey gown is done, I’ll move on to Charlotte’s gown. Of course then a spot then opens up. I’ve got you pegged for that spot. Then I see what trash and fabric comes my way. The fabrics find the people at that point
      xoxoxo

      1. Well deserved, I insist.
I am so glad you are having fun with us and your art. It’s only right!
Taxes. Ugh. Bringing mine in on Monday. I hate being last-minute but I was waiting for my son to get his stuff in order. Bring all three in, you know?
So far so beautiful. Love that green. And what? Really? Moi? I am honoured!!
        xoxoxo

            1. Oh goody!
I wonder what materials will show up for it?
I have a large swath of a large blue floral. I don’t have anything to go with it, yet. Still I have never done a floral print Art Gown.

  5. Oh, you guys have me in tears! Moved to the bone by beauty, talent and kindness interwoven with generosity. I couldn’t agree more with Tim saying that our world would crumble around us if Resa run out of art supplies. Here’s to special friendships & kindness and love to every single golden heart in here! Dahling Resa, I adore your work! ❤️🌷💗🌷❤️

    1. Dahling Marina!
Kindness is a beautiful thing. The world could use a lot more right now.
      It’s a 2 way street. I adore your work.
Art supplies… crazy how the poundemic messed up what we can or can’t buy.
Tim is kindness personified. I think I knew that when I realized how many cats he has.
      But there’s more!
Thank you for the reblog! See you at Anmar tomorrow!
      xoxo❤️🌷💗🌷❤️xoxo❤️🌷💗🌷❤️xoxo❤️🌷💗🌷❤️xoxo❤️🌷💗🌷❤️xoxo❤️🌷💗🌷❤️

      1. Oh, you can say that again…. The world could indeed use kindness right now!
…and yes, “kindness personified” is Tim and so much more! I’m so proud of all you guys and so grateful and fortunate for knowing you!
Wait… Hera wants to send her kisses and tail wags!
        You have our love!
        Hugs and xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

        1. Herrrraaaaaa!!!!!! 🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞🧽💞

    1. Thank you, kindly!
I actually have 10 Art Gowns that I have made, ready for the runway. I have 4 I’ve shot on models.
I’m working toward making that happen!

    1. Tim is quite the thoughtful person. Generous, yes!
It’s interesting to me how I wound up choosing gowns as an art form, even if they are never worn, or just drawn.
      Thank you, Merril! 💙💙

    1. Thank you, dear JMR!
I have been getting better. It’s … you know 3 steps ahead, 1 step back.
PS. I have your mail. Will answer in a day or 2!

      1. Hope you do like the way the painting is going, as for the drawings, keep going, you are doing good very good! I am still in the ‘process’ of coming back…:)

    1. Tim is most generous!
Looks like I’ll be sticking with the Art Gowns for awhile.
Strange that I chose gowns to be my art medium. I so like being different!
Hugs to you too, Diana! 🧡💜💙

      1. I’m not surprised. There is really something magical about them, and they speak to the princess in us, the mystery, the romance. Plus the real ones are sensory on so many levels. I’m glad you’re ready to create!

        1. Me too! Thank you Diana!
As soon as things are a bit more in control around here, I have a book “Mayday” that I shall turtle through. I’ll be by soon!

  6. What a brilliant way to celebrate friendship, creativity and belonging. Kindness and compassion are so needed in our lives – we are refreshed, inspired, ignited to generate more positive thoughts.

Resa – you bring the best of colour and glamour together to enchant us all, building resilience in each of our hearts.

Tim – your support and encouragement is a source of joy and laughter – most of all hope.

I am honoured to experience this wonderful community.

    Hugs to all!

    1. Rebecca!

      Love when you come by!
I can hardly wait to do the zombie post! The drawing of you as a zombie is one of my faves.
Everyone is wonderful. I feel honoured to have such fab friends.
      Tim went above and beyond.
      I am a fortunate one!
      HUGS to you, dear Rebecca!

  7. Hi Resa, I wish sometimes I was more “traditionally” artistic and could draw/sketch better than I do but I make up for my lack of skill with a pencil by doing “3D graphic models” instead (though I can doodle as I inherited some small talent from my Grandfather I told you about – the Master Craftsman.) Your images are as always awesome. I was going to ask whether you had tried Coptic Markers as an art medium – because they are good for blending colour and producing whispy effects, though I hear these markers are expensive.

Take your time ok just in case you are busy over the Easter period. Thanks again.

    1. Tyeth,

You do great with what you do.
LOL, I’m no master, but I enjoy myself.
Thank you for the visit and comment. I’m just about to mail the article!
Hope you like it, wrinkles and all. The cover came out good!

      1. I just got my email and the pdf, thanks so much. Ewan McGregor does make a good Obi-Wan Kenobi.
And I have to say the fact you enjoy yourself shows in everything I’ve seen you produce. Thanks for sharing.

        1. I left a comment on your latest post. I would appreciate it if you could clear it as soon as possible. Charlotte hasn’t been able to comment to me on my blog, and used yours last time. If you are okay about that, I mentioned to her I was just about to visit you! Many thanks!!!!!!
