Art Gowns – Red Carpet Review

I’M THRILLED to be a NOMINEE for BEST COSTUME DESIGN – CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS

The show I’m up for is “The Best Laid Plans” & of course some of the “Art Gowns” want to go to the Gala. They each say they are “The Best Made Gown”.

So in a supportive spirit, my writer friend Christy Birmingham from  Poetic Parfait uses her talent to review a few of the gowns.

Dip me in a mixture of blooms and light,

For a wedding beyond what I ever thought possible.

Douse me with water from a river of silky fabric

That tumbles across my curves with brilliance

I had not previously known.

Let me savor this garden today.

anne-1She slithers with sexiness, power rising from

Far within the depths of the striking hemlines,

Reaching out with a bold beauty to fit snuggly at

The intersection of feminine and powerful.

She is a layer of heat upon hope, black upon white,

Billowing in a breathtaking world of her own.

With purple shades of glory that rest underneath

Bobbles more elegant than words will allow,

Shimmer me this, tell me what you think,

Whether my daring spirit is coating your

Mind with romance for miles?

Run your hopes down my side, like the soft

Fabric of my dreams, and settle within the

Bare skin that complements a blue vision

Put here to amaze us.

Layer within my company tonight.

    1. Hello dear Ralph! ❤ "lol" You fit in perfectly with all the ⭐ ⭐
Christy writes great poetry, and I am so honored that she wrote these for the Art Gowns. It's hard to pick a fave poem.

      HUGS Resa xoxo ❤ #< #<

      1. My favourite gown of this group is Flora Blanca, but don’t ask a man which one is the best :/ as they are all fabulous 😀 So which one is my ⭐ going to wear on the night ? xox ❤ #< #<

        1. Flora Blanca Is a very popular Art Gown! 😀
I don’t want to hurt any of my girls feelings, so I will probably pick from one of my other collections. 🙂
Also, I would need 4 attendants to carry the tails as I walked around, then arrange them around my feet when I stood still! “LOL” xox ❤ #, #<

    1. Hi Karen! Thank you, and yes the Gowns are clamoring! I can’t choose! It’s like picking a favorite child. I might have to wear a vintage dress from my non-Art Gowns collection.

    1. Merci beaucoup, Elisabeth! C’est excitant. J’aime les poèmes que Christy a écrit ! Je me sens très honoré et heureux. je croise les doigts, aussi!

  2. Well, it was only a matter of time. ^_^ I feel there will most likely be many more such honors in your future! My favorite gown has to be Flora. ❤ But they are all so lovely, how will you choose?

    1. That is a very lovely thing to say, Diana! ❤ Thank you so much! I can't choose! It's like picking a favorite child, or the cutest kitten. I'm eying my vintage collection!

  3. They all look georgous, La vie en rose and Blue Venus are my favorites, but this is today, another time it would be Lady Anne and Flora Blanca…so I guess I am voting for the four of them…:)

  4. Congratulations again Resa on the nomination! Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to your wonderful celebration. It was my honour to be able to support you and your amazing, beautiful art gowns. I love how you put together the words with the gowns too, including the addition of the stars! Here’s to 5 stars for this post !

    1. Christy!
      Thank you for everything!
What fun I’m having with your wonderful poems.
I had to do up a special star-studded layout! “lol”
I’m heading over to Poetic Parfait soon to read your post about our collaboration.
And thank you for the 5 ⭐ rating!

  6. Oh how wonderful, warm congratulations! I am raising a glass to this, your gowns that are poetry in themselves and to your bright future! PS: keep us posted which gown made it to the gala, would you? Please? xxx

    1. Thank you, Lia! What a lovely comment!
Not sure what I’ll wear, however the tails on these Art Gowns would be very difficult to move around in. I would require 4 attendants! LOL
I will wear them all in my heart! xxx

    1. Thank you so much!
I suppose that’s why I call them Art Gowns. Anyone can wear them in their imagination anytime they want!
Thank you for coming by! I’ll drop by your blog for a visit shortly! 🙂

    1. Thank you! Collaborating with Christy on my Nomination Announcement post is a lot of fun.
It’s kind of like we’re throwing a party together. Woot! Hugs back to Alberta!

  7. Congratulations, Resa on a wonderful collaboration with Christy. Each one is truly a glorious gown! I could dress the narrator of my new blog serial in Lady Anne, for a special occasion. And i would love to have LA VIE EN ROSÉ for myself (if i had the figure or life for such things). Well done, and huge hugs to both of you. 😀

    1. Ooo… a blog serial with a hostess that looks like Lady Anne! Of course I’ll have to check that out!
Thank you for your congratulations, and I’m so glad that you enjoyed the collaboration with Christy.
She is quite amazing! Big hugs back to you! 😀

  8. I’m shouting it from the roof-tops!! Resa and are gowns are going to the greatest, most enticing, exciting, exceptional ball. Christy’s words encircled the gowns and filled our minds like pearls, rubies and diamonds. Descriptions so sublime they were of another world. Bravo. Bravo.

    1. Virginia!
It is very exciting! Yes, Christy’s poems are gems! The Gowns are squabbling over whose poem is best! If I win, it would be like a Fairytale come true. Only Empress D’Amore fits that description!
Thank you for being so happy for me! xo

  9. This is so wonderful:). The nomination and your collaboration. I have always adored your gowns. My son is in film scholl and some day, he promises to take me to the Oscars. (Yes, he has big dreams). I know who i want to make my gown;).

    1. Your son is right to dream. That way he can fulfill them, and take you to the Oscars in a gown I designed!
So glad you enjoyed Christy’s and my collaboration. It’s always a joy to see you here!

    1. I love the whole idea! I want to collaborate more! I have been MIA lately, as I am designing the costumes for a TV series starring Kim Cattrall. As soon as it’s finished, I’ll be back with another “Art Gown”, and let the ideas flow!
Please accept my apologies for taking so long with this reply, but work comes first, and my days are 14+ hours long. _Resa
