An Evening with Picasso-esque

“Dahlings! Welcome to An Evening with Picasso-esque“.

“Rene Rosso here, and I’m thrilled to announce that this Art Gowns show is being broadcast across the globe. So, without further ado, let me hand the mike over to our esteemed Art Director, Rebecca Budd.”

“Welcome, welcome! Tonight, we are on  fascinating journey through the esque-art of Picasso. So, let’s not waste anytime, and bring on the Art Gowns Models!”

“First out on the catwalk is Gigi. Gigi and her gown sure know how to make a point!”

“Next out is AGM Shey. Shey showers us with a fun kooky rendition of romance.”

“Marina is a show stopper in this cubist creation.”

“Our darling Dale takes on a dozen dimensions in this daring design.”

“Holly is a dream in this flowing full length frock with matching hair.”

Tired of her Picasso-esque gown, Ms. Rosso did an unexpected costume change into a Van Gogh-esque gown, inspired by “Starry Night”.

She also changed the song she would sing. The orchestra scrambled to pull out the sheet music. After all, this was no ordinary Torch Song.

All of the AGMs were in the wings listening to Rene’s beautiful rendition of Nicole Scherzinger’s rendition of Don’t Cry For Me Argentina. Then suddenly, as the last note floated away, AGM Shey started turning greenish.

The AGMs and Rebecca watched in horror as the transformation continued, until

Shey had become a Goth Gown Model of her former self. The Sheygoth slowly faded away into black.

At that exact moment, every leaf on Shey’s Cottonwood, at Tim’s Magic Tree Sanctuary fell off. In the next second, all the other Magic Trees shed their leaves in solidarity.

One-Eye screamed, “Someone save Shey! We’re booked in Manchester in 3 days”!

Prior to the defoliation of Tim’s Magic Trees, the trees whipped up a storm and a rainbow, that went all the way to Manchester, UK.

‘Oron’s head on a stick was placed on the rainbow, whereupon he slid all the way to Manchester. He landed on the doorstep of an umbrella factory, where he was cobbled back together.

Their names are hot! I assure you!

Lala LaSwirl (aka Charlotte Hoather) has been invited to perform in Rene Rosso’s new show opening soon, in Manchester UK.

As the proud owner of Charlotte & George’s new album, “Songs From Our Balcony” I must say I just can’t listen to it enough! In the meantime, here is the link to buy the new album, and other of her recordings.  https://music.apple.com/us/artist/charlotte-hoather/853884334

A Tangle of Stars

Dahlings, it’s me, Rene Rosso! Welcome to A Tangle Of Stars!

Tonight’s Stars are Resa (aka One- Eye), and Rebecca Budd. Rebecca did a podcast where she interviewed Resa about her Art Gowns.

I’m sure you’ll want to hear the Podcast, so click on the banner below.

Of course now that One -Eye has had her moment of glory, I am thrilled to tell you that I will be reciting Holly – House of Heart poetry, through Rebecca Budd’s voice. One-Eye is working on the contract.

GOD SPUN

by Holly Rene Hunter

I’d like to take a special moment to thank Chicklet Poppy © Georgian Carlson for doing my most fabulous “Tangle of Stars” hair-do.

Remember Poppy from a gala fundraiser & show of support  for all victims of rape, sexual abuse and crimes of violence (click above pic for post) where she performed a jazzy ballet with Marina Kanavaki. They wore identical costumes.

Of course Chicklet Poppy had a trial run at The Tangle of Stars hairdo. Look how fabulous I look. Such talent!

That concludes this first ever, most wonderful “A Tangle of Stars”. Tata! See you at the second one!

My most heartfelt thank you’s to Rebecca, for having me as a guest on Tea Toast & Trivia

Mosaics, Mesh & Eyelash

While the world awaits Princess Blue Holly to save the Art Gowns Mermaids, let’s take a look at a photo shoot from last month!

Above: In a knockout mesh gown, accessorized with mesh fan, full length gloves and mosaic hair, renowned Torch Chanteuse, Rene Rosso, opens the layout.

Art Gowns was lucky to get Gigi for this shoot. Her fall schedule is hectic, as she devotes much of her time to saving all birds, with a focus on turkeys. Here she is resplendent in a mosaic gown, accessorized with mosaic hair and bracelets .

Shehanne is the meaning of splendour in a mosaic and eyelash gown with full length mesh gloves and mosaic hair. The beauty team gave her a 1980’s Italian vogue make-up look. When she got home the Hamster Dudes didn’t recognize her and called police.

Holly is adorned in a mosaic and mesh gown. Her hair mocks mosaic, with Jet beads set in at irregular intervals. Art Gowns wanted to do something special for Holly. Knowing she adores motorcycle adventures, mosaic gauntlets were added to the gown.

This shoot was Dale’s first time modelling for Art Gowns. We all had a lot of fun working with her. In a mosaic & mesh gown, accessorized with a mesh/mosaic fan, mosaic bracelet & hair, Dale does not disappoint!

Aquileana is marvellous in this mosaic & eyelash gown. Pulled together with a mosaic fan, full length mesh gloves and subtle mosaic hair, this outfit is deadly gorgeous.

The colours of Marina’s mesh & mosaic gown was largely inspired by the Aegean sea colours in a painting she sent me. (I love it!) Half length mosaic gloves and mosaic hair complete the outfit.

BTW! I bought a Marina Kanavaki calendar for 2020. It’s absolutely fabulous. Click on the calendar, and go to her blog’s calendar post. There’s PayPal buttons, and you can get one of your own.

As per her contract with Art Gowns, Ms. Rosso modelled 3  gowns, and had her choice of which gown to open the article with.

Ms. Rosso, a class act, shared her fruit plates and flowers with all of the models.

Impressed with Paloma Fath, Ms. Rosso is currently preparing a new act, featuring all new gowns, and a heavily directed stage presentation.

H’eye there everyone!

I want to let you all know that the new Art Gown is done. So, we’ll all have to wait to see the next episode of Princess Blue Holly.

Of course I have to dress  the Mini-me, give the gown a final press, vacuum, arrange the plants and then shoot it. After that there is the selection of photos and making the post. I can hardly wait!!! 💖

Dateline: Chicklets’ & Art Gowns’ Host Gala Fundraiser

Art Gowns and Chicklets pooled their talents for a fundraiser, and show of support  for all victims of rape, sexual abuse and crimes of violence.

Headlining the evening at Toronto’s Uptown nightclub, Coopa Cabana, was internationally renown Torch Singer, Rene Rosso.

In a stunning Art Gown designed by Couturier Chicklet, Milly, Ms. Rosso opened with her rendition of Etta James’ “At Last”.

The Chicklet of Ceremonies, Pearl, introduced the entertainers, and speakers.

Key speaker, Georgiann, gave a mind blowing talk. It was filled with statistics and real life accounts. One statistic  from RAINN says, “Every 92 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted; and every 9 minutes, that victim is a child.”

Marina Kanavaki and Chicklet Poppy performed a Ballet Nouveau, to the happy ending of La Fille mal gardée. It is a tale of a girl who is being forced to marry someone she does not love. In the end she weds her love.

Rebecca Budd, Creative Director, worked closely with Marina and Poppy to choreograph this classic ballet fused with modern jazz movements.

Prominent philanthropists, Sophia, Queen of the Coop, and

Queen Isabella were noted luminaries in the audience.

La Esencia de Titania literally  flew  in with her Fairy Apprentice,  Daisy.

Daisy and Titania had been enjoying the flowers, poetry & Friendly Fairy Tales in Brenda’s garden when Brenda told them about the fundraiser.

In closing the event, Chicklet Diana joined Ms. Rosso in a duet.

They chose “The Very Thought of You”.  It’s their way of saying to all victims that they are loved.

All performers, speakers and behind the sceners donated their time and talents for the evening’s endeavours.

The Art Gowns are very glamorous. The Chicklets are cute as buttons. However, there is nothing  cute or glamorous about sexual abuse, rape and other crimes of violence. There are many ways to help. Find out how by:
